Bow tie inspired by F-4 Phantom. Although the US Navy was the first to recognize the Phantom’s advantages, it was only a few years before the US Marine Corps and US Air Force had also adopted the fighter-bomber. Capable of reaching Mach 2.2 and carrying more than 18,000 pounds of weapons, it set a number of in-flight performance records.
