The precursor to the Super Sabre, the Sabre was the first US-made swept wing fighter capable of taking on the MiG-15 in dogfights over Korea. It was also one of the first planes to engage in jet-to-jet combat. Introduced in the 1940s, the Sabre’s versatility and adaptibility kept it in service until the mid 1990s.
