A fighter-bomber with a distinctive 45° wing sweep and extensive use of titanium, the F-100 was the first US Air Force fighter capable of supersonic speed in level flight. It was beloved by many NATO air forces and served in many conflicts of the second half of the 20th century, including in Vietnam.
