The T-6 Texan was used to train pilots in the United States Army Air Forces, United Sates Navy, Royal Air Force, and other Commonwealth air forces during World War II and into the 1970s. It is still used for airshows and static displays, where its single prop and metallic lines make it a popular attraction.
