An unexpected success that attracted a demand exceeding Vought’s manufacturing capability, the Corsair served in World War II and the Korean War. It was originally designed to serve as a carrier-based aircraft, but ultimately found its biggest fans in the US Marines, who used it as a land-based aircraft. One of few aircraft to ever feature the inverted gull wing, the Corsair proves its good to be different.
